My kind (part two)

“Every night I used to pray that I’d find my people.”*

Since ever, you’re expecting them patiently, but for too long you won’t know who they are or what they do in their spare time. It’s designed to be a surprise and you will just go along because the urge to reign and to rule is so strong. Your people will prove to be your people, because of the feeling that you belong, that you just fit in.

Strangely, the unique ones are always struggling to fit in; did you notice? Then, when you’re expecting them the least, it happens: you just bump into your kind. Oh, but mine is special, undeserved and unwanted, the kind that I knew it was going to shape me up infinitely as a better person. If you find us together, we’re in the middle of either a party or a revolution.

Every time I see them from the outside, I smile while I tell to myself: “what a riot”. Then I join and I am not alone, not once.
